How to take Livdelzi (Seladelpar)
Livdelzi (Seladelpar) is an oral PPAR-delta agonist primarily used to treat primary biliary cholangitis (PBC). This drug has shown significant effects on processes such as bile acid synthesis, inflammatory response, lipid metabolism, and fibrosis in preclinical and clinical studies by modulating liver metabolism and key pathological pathways. Livdelzi's innovativeness and effectiveness in treatment, especially in reducing biochemical markers (such as alkaline phosphatase ALP) and improving pruritus symptoms, make it an important option for patients with PBC.
PBC is a chronic liver disease. Patients often experience symptoms such as itching and fatigue, which seriously affects the quality of life. Livdelzi's results showed that it was statistically significantly better than placebo in improving these symptoms, providing new hope for patients with under-treated PBC.
The recommended dose of Livdelzi is 10 mg once daily. Patients can choose to take the drug at any time, either before or after a meal, and this flexibility helps improve patient compliance. It is recommended that patients take Livdelzi at a regular schedule to ensure optimal effectiveness.
When used simultaneously with bile acid sequestrants, in order to avoid drug interactions, it is recommended to follow the following medication principles:Livdelzi should be taken at least 4 hours apart from bile acid sequestrants. Specifically, patients can choose to take Livdelzi 4 hours before or 4 hours after taking a bile acid sequestrant, or as much time in between as possible. This arrangement minimizes drug interactions, ensuring that the efficacy of Livdelzi is not affected.
