Can Platinib be taken as half medicine for how long?
Pralsetinib (Pralsetinib) is a targeted therapy drug targeting RET gene fusions and mutations. Its standard recommended dose is 400 mg once a day, taken orally on an empty stomach. However, in actual clinical application, depending on the patient's individual differences, tolerance, and adverse reactions, it is sometimes necessary to adjust the drug dosage, including taking half the dose.
Half-dose usually refers to cutting the standard dose in half, i.e. 200mg of platinib per dose. This adjustment is usually based on the patient's adverse reactions, such as hypertension, fatigue, diarrhea, etc., as well as the doctor's clinical judgment.

The duration of half-dose administration varies depending on the patient's condition and may range from days to months. After adverse effects subside or patient tolerance improves, physicians may consider readjusting the dose to standard levels.
Based on publicly released information, dose adjustments to platinib are made based on close monitoring of patient response. In clinical studies, for patients who experience adverse reactions, doctors will reduce the dose according to the predetermined dose adjustment plan (as shown in Table 1), which includes the option of taking half the dose.
Taking platinib at half the dose is intended to reduce adverse reactions and improve patient tolerance and quality of life. Patients still need to closely monitor adverse reactions while taking half the dose and maintain communication with their doctors in order to adjust the treatment plan in a timely manner.
Each patient's response and tolerance to Platinib is unique, so the duration and effects of half-dose may vary from person to person.
Doctors will take into account factors such as the patient's age, weight, liver and kidney function, and concomitant medications when formulating dose adjustment strategies.
