Will tumors metastasize after taking trametinib?

Trametinib is a targeted drug primarily used to treat BRAF V600 mutation-positive advanced melanoma and some other tumor types. It is a MEK inhibitor that prevents the proliferation and survival of tumor cells by inhibiting the intracellular MAPK signaling pathway. Although trametinib has achieved certain clinical efficacy, some patients still develop tumor metastasis while taking it.

Although the mechanism of action of trametinib can effectively inhibit tumor growth, it cannot completely eliminate all cancer cells.
