What are the side effects of Romigrastim/Romigrastim?

Romiplostim/Romiplostim is a biologic agent used to treat idiopathic thrombocytopenia (ITP) in adults and children who have not responded well to traditional therapies. ITP is an autoimmune disease in which the body's immune system mistakenly attacks and destroys platelets, resulting in a significant decrease in platelet numbers. This condition may increase the risk of bleeding, which may even be life-threatening in severe cases.

Roprostim stimulates megakaryocytes in the bone marrow to produce more platelets by simulating the effects of thrombopoietin, thereby effectively increasing platelet levels in patients. In clinical studies of Ropremilast, the most common adverse reactions in adult patients included headache, nose and throat infections, and allergic (hypersensitivity) reactions.
