What causes eczema
Eczema (Eczema) is the name for a group of inflammatory skin conditions that cause itching, dry skin, rashes, scales, blisters, and skin infections. For light skin, eczema may appear as red, inflamed skin. On darker skin tones, eczema can appear brown, purple, grey, or grey. Itchy skin is the most common symptom of eczema.
Eczema is a common inflammatory skin disease. Its specific cause is not fully understood, but it is generally believed to be caused by the interaction of multiple factors. First, genetic factors play an important role in the development of eczema. Many people with eczema have a family history, suggesting that genes may influence skin barrier function and immune response. In addition, people with eczema often have a weak skin barrier and are vulnerable to external stimuli, allergens and microorganisms.
Environmental factors are also one of the important triggers of eczema. Common environmental irritants may include chemicals, fragrances, detergents, and certain metals. These irritants can cause allergic reactions in the skin or directly damage the skin barrier, thereby aggravating eczema symptoms. At the same time, climate change, such as cold and dry air, will also cause the skin to lose moisture, further aggravating the condition of eczema.
Allergic reactions also play a key role in the pathogenesis of eczema. Many people with eczema have allergic reactions to certain foods (such as milk, eggs, nuts, etc.) or allergens in the environment (such as dust mites, pollen, animal dander, etc.), which can cause skin redness, itching, and other uncomfortable symptoms.
Psychological factors are also thought to be a factor in eczema. Stress and anxiety may worsen the symptoms of eczema by affecting the immune system and skin's repair mechanisms. Therefore, mental health is closely related to the management of eczema, and alleviating stress and anxiety may help improve patients' skin conditions.
