Early symptoms of thyroid cancer
Thyroid cancer is a malignant tumor that originates from the follicular epithelium of the thyroid gland. Its symptoms are diverse and may vary between individuals. However, there are some common early symptoms that can help us identify the problem and seek medical help.
The most common symptom of thyroid cancer is a lump in the front and lower part of the neck. These lumps usually feel hard, get larger over time, and are often not painful. This painless lump is an important warning sign of thyroid cancer, especially if it begins to press on surrounding tissue or interfere with swallowing or breathing.
Hoarseness is also a common symptom of thyroid cancer. When a tumor invades the recurrent laryngeal nerve, the vocal cords may be compressed or paralyzed, causing the voice to become hoarse. This change in voice may occur suddenly and may gradually worsen or even lead to complete loss of voice.

Additionally, people with thyroid cancer may experience symptoms such as a sore throat, difficulty swallowing or breathing, and pain in the front of the neck or a feeling of something pressing on their neck. These symptoms may be caused by the tumor compressing surrounding tissues or invading structures such as the esophagus and trachea.
In addition to the main symptoms listed above, thyroid cancer may be accompanied by other symptoms, such as flushing (flushing), soft stools or diarrhea, weight loss, and coughing. These symptoms may vary from person to person and may be similar to symptoms of other thyroid conditions, such as goiter.
It is important to note that if you already have a thyroid disease, such as goiter, you may experience similar symptoms frequently. However, if your symptoms change, worsen or feel unusual, it is important to see your GP promptly. The doctor will diagnose whether you have thyroid cancer based on your symptoms and signs, combined with necessary examinations (such as ultrasound, CT scan, pathological examination, etc.), and formulate an appropriate treatment plan.
In short, we should stay vigilant about the early symptoms of thyroid cancer and seek medical treatment promptly so as to facilitate early detection and early treatment and improve the cure rate and quality of life.
