Detailed instructions for use of brigatinib
Brigatinib is an effective drug for patients with anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK)-positive metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), particularly those who have developed or are intolerant to crizotinib.
Brigatinib is mainly used to treat ALKpositive metastatic NSCLC patients who have developed or are intolerant to crizotinib. It is recommended to take 90 mg orally daily for the first 7 days. If the initial dose is tolerated within the first 7 days, increase the daily oral dose to 180 mg. If you do not tolerate the initial dose within the first 7 days, you should follow the adjustment recommendations of your attending physician.
Brigatinib is usually taken once daily, with or without food. Swallow the tablets whole. Do not crush, chew, or break the tablets. If you vomit the tablet after taking brigatinib, do not take it again but maintain your normal dosing schedule.
If you miss a dose, do not make up for it, but take it as normal at the next dose time. Avoid taking two doses at once.
Before starting treatment, the treating doctor should be informed of personal health conditions, including lung disease, heartbeat problems, high blood pressure, vision problems, diabetes, etc. Avoid taking it with certain foods and medications, such as grapefruit products, as well as other prescription drugs, over-the-counter drugs, vitamins, and herbal remedies. The attending physician should be consulted for details. Possible side effects include cough, difficulty breathing, chest pain, high blood pressure, severe headache, nausea, and more. If serious side effects occur, contact your doctor immediately.
It is recommended to store medications at room temperature and away from moisture and heat sources. Brigatinib is a powerful drug that can significantly improve the survival of patients with ALK positive NSCLC. However, in order to ensure its safety and effectiveness, patients must strictly follow the doctor's recommendations and instructions on the drug package insert, and pay close attention to any unusual body reactions. Through close communication with your doctor and regular check-ups, the efficacy of brigatinib can be maximized while reducing the risk of potential side effects.
