The role and efficacy of durvalumab/Infinifer

Durvalumab/Infinifer (Durvalumab) is an immunotherapy drug that is an anti-PD-L1 monoclonal antibody. Its core mechanism of action is to block the binding of programmed death ligand 1 (PD-L1) to the T cell surface receptor PD-1, thereby removing the tumor's suppression of the immune system and enabling T cells to recognize and attack tumor cells. This mechanism makes durvalumab an important drug in the field of tumor immunotherapy, especially showing clinical value in the treatment of unresectable locally advanced small cell lung cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, endometrial cancer, cholangiocarcinoma, liver cancer, and bladder cancer.

By enhancing the body's immune response, durvalumab can improve patients' disease progression control rate and extend progression-free survival in some patients. In addition to its main indications, overseas studies are also exploring its potential efficacy in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma and other solid tumors. The drug is administered through intravenous infusion, usually in medical institutions. During the treatment process, immune-related adverse events, such as pneumonia, hepatitis, enteritis, etc., need to be closely monitored, and the treatment plan needs to be adjusted according to the individual patient's condition.
