Enrig is the first oral iron-chelating agent approved by the US FDA for routine use and is approved for children aged ≥2 years. , used in patients with chronic iron overload caused by blood transfusion. In Europe, it is recommended as a first-line drug for patients with thalassemia iron overload over 6 years old. Clinical studies are currently underway in China. Phase II and III clinical trials and pharmacokinetic studies have shown that it has good safety and tolerability, can significantly reduce iron load in the heart and liver, and is easily accepted by patients. At the same time, it also has pharmaceutical properties such as antifungal (such as Mucor that grows in an iron-rich environment), anti-cell proliferation, anti-malarial, anti-oxidative stress damage, anti-cytotoxic-induced apoptosis, etc.; it can be used for the treatment of secondary hemochromatosis, porphyria cutanea tarda and other diseases.

Enrig should be taken on an empty stomach at least 30 minutes before meals, once a day, preferably at the same time every day, and the tablets cannot be chewed or swallowed whole; Enrig cannot be taken with aluminum-containing antacids, and the dosage (mg/kg) needs to be calculated and rounded to the nearest whole tablet; by stirring Completely dissolve the tablets in water, apple juice or orange juice (100-200mL) until a clear suspension is obtained and then drink it. The remaining medicine must be added with a small amount of water, apple juice or orange juice and mixed well before being taken. Dissolving in carbonated drinks or milk is not recommended as it will cause foam and delay the dispersion speed.

What should Enrige pay attention to? 

1. It may cause a rash. Generally, the rash will disappear automatically without the need to adjust the dose or stop taking Enriga. If the condition is serious or persistent, the medication should be stopped. 2. The patient's vision or hearing may be affected. 3. It should be taken 30 minutes before meals. 4.
