(Enrig) is used for patients with iron accumulation due to long-term blood transfusion (such as thalassemia or other rare anemias). It is suitable for children over two years old and adults. Let’s take a look at the usage and dosage of Deferasirox (Enrige) dispersible tablets.

Deferasirox (Enrige) usage and dosage:

1. How to use:

After receiving 10 to 20 blood transfusions. The common dose of deferasirox is 20 mg/(kg·d); if the child has a high iron load, the dose is 30 mg/(kg·d); if the child has a low iron load, the dose is 10 to 15 mg/(kg·d).

Special attention: a foreign prospective controlled study. Comparing the treatment of 296 children with thalassemia major taking deferasirox (Enrige) and 290 cases of deferoxamine.

It was found that the oral dose of deferasirox 20 mg/kg·d) can maintain serum ferritin at 2000ug/L; if the oral dose of deferasirox is 30 mg/(kg·d), the serum ferritin decreases by an average of 1249ug/L per year. LIC was applied to analyze iron loading status. It was found that oral deferasirox 20 mg/(kg·d) can effectively achieve iron balance in the body, while the dose of 30 mg/(kg·d) can achieve the purpose of reducing iron accumulation in the body, while the dose of 10 mg/(kg·d) is not enough to reduce iron accumulation in the body and causes a slow increase in iron accumulation.

2. Suitable for children over 2 years old, take orally once a day before meals.

3. Deferasirox should be taken on an empty stomach at least 30 minutes before meals, once a day, preferably at the same time every day. Tablets should not be chewed or swallowed whole. Deferasirox (Enreg) should not be taken with aluminum-containing antacids, and the dose (mg/kg) to be administered needs to be calculated and rounded to the nearest whole tablet.

4. Completely dissolve Deferasirox (Enrige) in water, apple juice or orange juice (100-200mL) by stirring until a clear suspension is obtained and then drink it. The remaining drug must be added with a small amount of water, apple juice or orange juice and mixed well before taking it.
