What kind of nebulizer does pulmozyme use?

Release time: 2025-10-19 11:44:20

PULMOZYME can be administered using the eRapid nebulizer system or in conjunction with a jet nebulizer and compressor. There are currently no data to support the administration of PULMOZYME with other nebulizer systems.

Pulmozyme is mainly used by children and adult patients with cystic fibrosis. If the patient needs it, this drug should be used under the guidance of a doctor and should not be used privately.

eRapid nebulizer system

The eRapid nebulizer system turns Pulmozyme liquid medication into a fine mist that can be breathed in through the mouthpiece.

Be careful not to use any other inhaled medication in the nebulizer at the same time. Keep all other inhaled drug systems completely separate from Pulmozyme.

The eRapid nebulizer system should only be used by adults and children who are able to use a mouthpiece and should not be used by younger children who require a face mask to take Pulmozyme.

Administer PULMOZYME via the eRapid nebulizer system or via a jet nebulizer connected to an air compressor with adequate air flow and equipped with a mouthpiece or a suitable mask.

Jet sprayers and compressors

Nebulizers and compressors are used together to deliver a dose of Pulmozyme. The nebulizer turns Pulmozyme liquid medication into a fine mist that you breathe in through the mouthpiece, and a compressor powers the nebulizer to make it work.

Pulmozyme may only be used with an approved nebulizer and an appropriate compressor recommended below, or with the eRapid nebulizer system (see other side of these instructions for use). Read and follow the manufacturer's instructions.

Do not use any other inhaled medication in the nebulizer at the same time. Keep all other inhaled medication systems completely separate from Pulmozyme and use the mouthpiece or mask included with the nebulizer kit.

If your child cannot inhale or exhale through the mouth, you can use the PARI Baby Reusable Nebulizer, but you should discuss it with your doctor first. The PARI Baby Sprayer is the same as the PARI LC Plus Jet system, except the mouthpiece is replaced by a snug-fitting mask that attaches to an elbow.
