The role and efficacy of budesonide sustained-release capsules: Budesonide is an ileal controlled-release hormone preparation. Its biggest advantage is that it significantly reduces the inhibitory effect of traditional hormone preparations on the adrenal cortex and reduces the side effects of traditional hormone use. However, a randomized placebo-controlled study showed that although budesonide can improve the effect of placebo in inducing remission in active Crohn's disease, it does not exceed placebo.
